Welcome to my photo site. As the saying goes...... "This is a work in progress" so please be patient while I work hard at uploading the many photos I plan to add to the various galleries on this site.
I am an enthusiastic, amateur, self-taught photographer with an interest mainly centred on nature, particularly birds. This will soon become obvious as you peruse my galleries.

My aim is always to try to get the best possible quality images but I am not obsessive about that as will be seen from the varying quality of the images displayed here. The inclusion of a particular image often depends more on the interest I believe that image will generate than its "photographic perfection". In fact "photographic perfection" and the "rules of photography" are not the things I am thinking about while framing the shot. Rather I am thinking about the subject and how to show that subject's features best.
I reside in a seaside town in South East Queensland, Australia, just north of Brisbane. The location is a prime shorebird area and much of my photography involves those birds.
I am a third or fourth (depending on the branch of the family tree) generation Australian of Celtic/Gaelic decent.
My Bio photo is a little out of date: I am now retired and living a good life looking through the viewfinders of various Canon brand cameras and lenses.
